I too went to see "Miss Gulch Returns" and was extremely impressed by the production, and especially by Russell Hawkins. He sang beautifully, demonstrating a fantastic range and a passionate portrayal of the character. Subsequent to the show, I sought out further material from Russell Hawkins and was further impressed by his talents. Our tastes vary, and yet there is no dispute over excellence. A little too long. Some good stuff and some very good singers. I suspect that judging a show based on how much you fancy some of the performers is not properly objective. The bill was sent back because it had been bumped up by £33. We didn’t order any wine as it was all too expensive. Too many staff hanging around the doorway generally getting in each others way. Our waiter was friendly on the few occasions he paid a visit to our table. The toilets were a mess: cracked sink, empty soap dispenser, mirrors need a good clean and it’s never a good thing when the flush won’t flush. Nine staff said goodbye to us as we left.
